Marcello Nizzoli - Olivetti, Lettera 22 - First Series - Typewriter - 1950-1960

Olivetti letter 22 L typewriter, first series, in rare beige embossed color.
Produced in 1950, the first year of production of the Lettera 22, as can be seen from the serial number 919270 stamped on the frame.
The Lettera 22 first series (called L) is distinguished from subsequent models by the presence of round keys, later square, the raised writing on the paper rest, and the absence of the red key.
Iconic design object, the Lettera 22 designed by Giuseppe Beccio and drawn by Marcello Nizzoli, has entered the permanent collections of MoMA in New York and was awarded the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1954.
