Description from the seller

Magnificent Italian Renaissance-style table from the second half of the 19th century, entirely made of sturdy oak.

The circular top features a richly hand-carved design with vegetal motifs along the entire edge, complemented by a carved diamond-shaped border that emphasizes its elegant line. The base is dominated by a carved shaft with deep, well-defined phytomorphic decorations, from which four animated legs with elaborate scrolls extend, ending in imposing zoomorphic figures in gargoyle style. These 'winged dogs' are carved with great skill: feathered wings, stretched legs, beard, snout, and nostrils rendered with surprising detail. The table is in excellent condition, with original functioning casters; only minor missing parts are noted, such as two ears and a slight section of carving at the end of the shaft, all highlighted in the photos. The top is removable and can be fixed with four original screws. It fully retains its vintage charm.

Seller's Story

I have always been passionate about our past, knowing it is the only thing that does not cease the connection between what is and what was. When I reached the right age I understood that my passion had to coincide with my work and so I opened a business. The key principles are quality and love towards the customer. Francesco Secondo
