Description from the seller

Important Russian crucifix in solid bronze, dating from the last quarter of the 19th century (circa 1870–1900) according to the tradition of the Old Believers. A high-quality artifact, produced through sand casting and hand-finished, with the original markings still perfectly legible along the edge: authentic signs of work from ancient Russian workshops.

The iconography is that solemn of Orthodox Crucifixion: at the top, the Lord Sabaoth surrounded by angels; in the center, Christ on Calvary with Slavic inscriptions; and at the bottom, Golgotha with Adam's skull and Jerusalem. On the back, the long prayer of the Cross is inscribed in full, as found only on the most complete and best-preserved historical specimens.

The ancient patina, deep reliefs, and significant dimensions (approx. 35 × 17 cm, 635 g) not only attest to its ancient origin but also give the piece a remarkable stage presence. It is an authentic, elegant crucifix of rare intensity, ideal for those wishing to add a fine 19th-century Russian object of undeniable historical and spiritual value to their collection.

On the back, a text in Old Slavic Ecclesiastical (tradition of the Old Believers), with the liturgical epithets of the Holy Cross.
The cross is the guardian of the entire world.
The Cross is the beauty of the Church.
The Cross is the power of kings.
The Cross is the support of the faithful.
The Cross is the glory of the angels.
The Cross is the wound of the demons.

I guarantee adequate packaging and fast shipping. Thank you.
