Crucifix - Bronze - 1850-1900

The iconography is that solemn of Orthodox Crucifixion: at the top, the Lord Sabaoth surrounded by angels; in the center, Christ on Calvary with Slavic inscriptions; and at the bottom, Golgotha with Adam's skull and Jerusalem. On the back, the long prayer of the Cross is inscribed in full, as found only on the most complete and best-preserved historical specimens.

The ancient patina, deep reliefs, and significant dimensions (approx. 35 × 17 cm, 635 g) not only attest to its ancient origin but also give the piece a remarkable stage presence.
