Sea Snail Sea shell - S-10 LAMBIS CROCATA (No Reserve Price)

Beautiful Lambis crocata shell, orange spider-like shell, a large species of sea snail, a marine mollusk from the family Strombidae. The shell is large, moderately pointed, with about twelve whorls. The opening is elongated and smooth, with an outer lip featuring six slender, finger-like projections. The stromboid notch is wide and deep, and the anterior canal is long and gracefully curved. The shell is sculpted with spiral and axial cords on the spire, with a row of pre-sutural beads, a columellar whorl with three spiral rows of tubercles, an upper spiral row of four tubercles, the last two large, and two lower rows with four to six smaller tubercles. The color is cream-white with brown spots, and the opening is uniformly orange. Dimensions: 30/60/145mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
