Description from the seller
Pair of Jurassic Ammonites – Lytoceras & Perisphinctes
A beautiful duo of Jurassic ammonites, each representing a different and iconic genus from ancient marine ecosystems.
1 — Lytoceras
Size: 12 × 10 × 4.5 cm
Weight: 520 g
This specimen shows the classic smooth, gently curved whorls typical of Lytoceras, a genus known for its elegant shell geometry and fast-growing spiral. The natural deformation and calcite-rich preservation give it a unique, sculptural appearance.
2 — Perisphinctes
Size: 11 × 10 × 3.5 cm
Weight: 525 g
A well-preserved Perisphinctes ammonite displaying the characteristic dense, ribbed ornamentation. Its detailed whorl structure and strong radial ribs are excellent examples of the genus’ diagnostic features.
Both fossils retain attractive natural textures and authentic coloration, offering a striking contrast between the two morphologies.
Ideal for collectors, educational purposes, or as distinctive natural décor.
Plastic stands included.
