Description from the seller

"Reflections", a photo book by Italian photographer Guido Argentina. Born in Florence, he attended the medical school of a local university for three years, but turned his career at the age of 23 to focus on more intriguing photography. Since then, he has been engaged in creative activities focusing on fashion and nudity, moving his base to Los Angeles, and has released many works on Vogue, Marie Claire, Playboy, etc. We are solidifying that position. Many fans are fascinated by the fascinating illustrations that tickle elegant and eroticism, and the works that have the strength of women reminiscent of the former Helmut Newton, and are a popular photographer in Japan. This is a unique collection of works composed of portraits of models in front of a mirror and multi-layered images of their reflection.

Guido Argentini

Guido Argentini (b.1966) was born in Florence, Italy. His artistic vision is deeply rooted in classical ideals, yet his work redefines contemporary representations of femininity. Initially drawn to medicine, he ultimately surrendered to the magnetic pull of photography, moving to Los Angeles in 1990. His fascination with the female form—both its sensuality and psychological depth—became the foundation of his artistic practice. Through a series of critically acclaimed books and international exhibitions, Argentini has crafted a visual language that merges elegance, eroticism, and introspection.

Argentini’s work explores femininity in its many dimensions. Private Rooms unveils intimate, cinematic narratives set in both lavish and unassuming interiors, where women assert their agency through the interplay of light, space, and desire. Reflections delves into psychological landscapes, capturing moments of introspection that transcend the physical. His Argentum series, a continuation of Silvereye, transforms the female form into a sculptural entity, with metallic-painted bodies embodying an ethereal yet powerful presence. Throughout his oeuvre, Argentini reclaims and reimagines the woman as a deity—a timeless muse of strength, sensuality, and mystique.

Argentini’s work has graced the pages of important publications, while exhibitions spanning Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Moscow have cemented his reputation as a visionary in contemporary photography. Drawing inspiration from the chiaroscuro of Caravaggio and the precision of classical sculpture, his images oscillate between the dreamlike and the tangible. Whether set against stark geometric backdrops or in dimly lit hotel rooms where color and shadow sculpt the narrative, his photography invites viewers into a realm where beauty, autonomy, and divinity converge.
