Description from the seller
Dear Bidders,
I'm offering here a beautiful set of 4 porcelain vases from Rosenthal in good vintage condition.
These are authentic vintage pieces from the 1960s, not contemporary reproductions. Their minimalist elegance, organic silhouettes, and pristine white glaze make them highly collectible examples of genuine mid-century modern European porcelain design.
SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS:
These porcelain vases belong to the Rosenthal Studio-Line, created on the sculptural “Kissenvase / Pillow Vase” form, designed by Rosemonde Nairac. The series was produced by Rosenthal, one of Germany’s most influential porcelain manufacturers, founded in 1879 and internationally known for its collaborations with leading artists and designers. Since the 1960s, the Studio-Line has been Rosenthal’s experimental and avant-garde design branch, focusing on modern forms and artistic innovation.
Nairac’s pillow-shaped vases are characterized by soft, organic curves and a minimalist, sculptural presence. Although they are not strictly classified as Op-Art, the clean geometry, smooth surfaces and optical purity of the form reflect the modernist aesthetic of that period and make the pieces visually striking in a similar way.
Ideal as collectors’ items, the vases represent Rosenthal’s tradition of merging fine porcelain craftsmanship with contemporary design.
