Ancient Roman bronze follis of Constans (Ae4), dating to AD 347–348 (Trier mint), obverse with the rosette diademed bust of Constans right and legend CONSTANS P F AVG, reverse with two Victories and the legend VICTORIAE DD AVGGQ NN; diameter about 1.6 cm, weight 1.89 g, condition Good, from a private Cambridgeshire collection acquired in the 1970s.
Description from the seller
A fine Ancient Roman bronze follis of Constans. The obverse displays the rosette diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constans facing right, accompanied by the legend CONSTANS P F AVG. The reverse features two Victories facing each other, each holding a wreath and palm branch, with an ivy leaf between in the centre. The accompanying legend reads VICTORIAE DD AVGGQ NN. Mintmark TRS in exergue. The coin was likely minted in AD 347-348 in Trier.

Provenance: Ex Cambridgeshire private collection, acquired 1970s.
