Description from the seller
An ancient bronze coin, minted in Jerusalem, struck by procurator Porcius Festus under Nero, and known as a prutah. The obverse features the legend NEΡ-ΩNO-C in three lines within a wreath. The reverse displays an upright palm branch with the legend KAICAΡOC, with the year LЄ upwards in the left field. Minor crack on one side.
Diameter: 1.7cm
Weight: 1.61g
Provenance: Ex Cambridgeshire private collection, acquired 1970s.
