Description from the seller
IN RISALTO

- Only one owner for 30 years from 1996
- Very rare 1200 Convertible version
- ASI approved
History / Overview
At the 1957 Turin Motor Show, Fiat also presented the two-seater roadster 1200 TV Trasformabile. It was an updated Fiat 1100 TV Trasformabile, equipped with the more powerful 1200 engine, and was called the 1200 Spider in foreign markets. The exterior and interior changes compared to the previous model were minimal, but thanks to the improved engine, it is considered the best of the series. This example underwent a restoration in the late 1990s when it was purchased in 1996 by the owner who has owned it to this day.
EXTERNAL
The exterior paintwork is preserved and is in excellent overall condition, with a charming patina and some signs of age and normal use. It is in the classic Fiat white color and has recently been polished and detailed. A thickness gauge test revealed no signs of damage.
The underbody is generally solid and well preserved, there are no traces of accidents and it has been restored in the past.
Internal
The interior is in good overall condition following the restoration carried out by the previous owner. Some details and trim show signs of wear and tear, however, the interior is presentable and usable. All interior elements are well-maintained, including the original steering wheel and all the high-end chrome and dashboard details typical of FIAT Special Carrozzerie Speciali. The hood opens and closes easily.
MECHANICS
The original engine, as per the registration document, starts immediately and works well, as does the gearbox and clutch. The brakes are free, however the technical inspection expired in 2022 and a normal maintenance due to the little use is recommended before the next inspection.
A rare Carrozzerie Speciali Fiat in the final 1200cc version is a great investment for a Spider with simple mechanics and a captivating design.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
