Description from the seller

For sale is an original, hand-painted icon from the 19th century, presumably of Russian Orthodox origin. It depicts two saints in front of a central building (likely a temple or monastery) with Christ Pantokrator in the upper segment. The classic composition features a gold background, fine detail work, and characteristic elements of traditional icon painting.

Details:
Real wood panel with reinforcement
Back side shows typical woodworm infestation (not active).
Condition: heavily patinated due to age with color loss and missing parts, but kept in its original state.

Origin: probably Russia / Ukraine
Painting technique: egg tempera on gesso, partial gilding preserved.
Labeling in Old Cyrillic

A notice:
The icon is not restored – this emphasizes its authentic character. Worth collecting for lovers of religious art, historians, or icon enthusiasts.
