Brand: Ernst Leitz Wetzlar (Leica); Model/type nr: Hektor 1:2,5 / 120mm projection lens with long focus tube; Functional condition: tested and working.
Description from the seller
Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Hektor 1:2.5 / 120mm projector lens in aluminum version, complete with long focusing tube. Originally built for Leica / Leitz slide projectors (including the Pradovit series), but nowadays very popular among photographers and filmmakers who use it with a helicoid adapter on digital system cameras for a distinctive vintage look.
The Hektor 120mm is known for its high light intensity (f/2.5), soft contrast, and beautiful transition from sharp to blurry – ideal for portraits, close-ups, and creative bokeh shots. The lens has no diaphragm or built-in focusing; this is addressed with a separate helicoid/adapter, making this lens a true 'DIY cult classic.'
The optics look good for their age: the glass parts appear clear with only some dust spots/light signs of use, no visible mold. Mechanically, the focus tube is in good condition. The front lens cap is from Schneider-Kreuznach; it fits well but is not original Leitz.
A beautiful piece of Leitz history – interesting for both collectors and creative digital users.
