A magnificent collectible specimen from the famous mines of Allevard (Isère, France), a classic location in European alpine mineralogy, is offered.
The piece stands out for its aesthetics and large size (13 cm). It features a druse of Quartz Crystal crystals with a prismatic habit, characterized by extreme transparency ('water') and outstanding vitreous luster.
The crystals are arranged in an aerial manner on a solid matrix of Siderite crystallized in rhombohedrons, with its characteristic dark oxidized tone rich in iron and manganese. The contrast between the purity of the quartz and the darkness of the matrix gives the piece great visual beauty and three-dimensionality.
