Byzantine Pilgrim's Bronze Amulet
Circa 12-13th century AD
This compact bronze ampulla-shaped pendant features a lentoid body, a short cylindrical neck and a small suspension lug at the shoulder. One face is decorated with a drop-shaped cartouche filled with interlace and vegetal scrolls in low relief; the opposite side remains plain.
Dimensions: 9cm x 4cm x 1cm
Provenance: Private European Collection; formerly acquired from old UK and European collection formed since the 1970s.
