AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful ship's token from Zeeland, 1755.

Verkade 93.4 | HNPM.75 | cf. van der Wiel 4 (JMP.1982) | CNM.2.49.89 with Zeeland, but with a smooth edge. var. RRR.

Weight: 4.21 grams
Diameter: 26 mm

H.J. van der Wiel: in the course of 1755, new, slightly modified coin dies (type III) were introduced, with the main changes being ZELAND (instead of ZEELAND) and RELINQUENDA (instead of van RELINQVENDA). In 1754, they also began systematically applying cable rims. However, this piece still belongs to type II but has a smooth rim. Van der Wiel did not know this variant. An unpublished specimen in very good condition. Highly rare.
