Description from the seller
Beautiful Swarovski Lovebirds figurine, made from clear crystal, with a matte black beak and matte black and white eyes. They sit on a frosted crystal branch.
This is one of their initial pieces, made in 1987, carrying the SCS logo and the initials MS, as shown by the etching on the bottom of the figure (shown in picture 19).
It is exceedingly rare, it is the first piece of the first trilogy of the annual editions, 'Caring and Sharing'. Its rarity is due to it only being produced in English speaking countries, meaning that even collectors in Austria (home of Swarovski) were unable to buy the pieces. It was relatively limited edition but the exact number produced is still unclear.
Originally the piece was attributed as a collaboration better Max Schreck and Adi Stocker, however, in 1998 Swarovski gave full credit to Max Schreck as the designer.
The crystal is in pristine condition. It's box is worn, and the foam is beginning to deteriorate but continues to offer protection.
The Swarovski plaque is to show scale, the stand is for display purposes, neither are included in the sale.
