Italian-born, Los Angeles-based photographer Guido Argentini (born 1966) is best known for his erotic photographs of female nudes and has published several books on the subject. In his latest collection, Eros, Argentini broadens the scope of his concept of eroticism in photography by presenting a series of diptychs that combine oneiric images of women with landscapes and still lifes: a woman's vibrant blue eyes clashing with the blue of the sky; a woman's red dress reflecting the red velvet seats of an old Italian theater. The result is a series of evocative images charged with emotion and narrative. From ancient Italian palaces to the urban landscapes of Tokyo and the deserts of Arizona, viewers are invited to create their own narrative.
