Description from the seller

A very beautiful title full of expressive black and white photographs.

Condition: book in very good condition, no bend pages, no foxing, hardcover in linen, no bumped corners. The slipcase shows some minor wear on the outside considering its age.

This book is a collection of photographs by Japanese photographer Shisui Tanahashi. As a member of the Tanpei Photo Club, a group of avant-garde amateur photographers founded in Kansai, Tanahashi studied under Nakaji Yasui, and after World War II, he founded the Spiegel Photographers Society together with Takeji Iwamiya, a member of the Tanpei Club. Shisui Tanahashi has contributed greatly to the avant-garde expression of postwar Japanese photography. This is his second collection of photographs published in 1974, following "Mexico". It consists of people and landscapes photographed in various places in Japan over a period of about 20 years.
