Description from the seller
Exceptional Fully Rooted 14.5 cm / 5.7 inches Carcharodontosaurus saharicus Tooth, Museum-Quality Fossil from the Kem Kem Beds, Morocco
From the legendary Kem Kem region of southeastern Morocco comes an extraordinary and completely natural fossil: an authentic, fully rooted tooth of Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs that ever walked the Earth, rivaling the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex.
This remarkable tooth measures 14.5 cm (5.7 inches!) in total length and stands out as a truly exceptional example of pure, untouched preservation. It is entirely natural and authentic, without any restoration, glue, or artificial treatment. The enamel exhibits a stunning natural color gradient, ranging from deep brown to warm beige at the root, capturing both the beauty and geological history of this specimen.
The serrations along the edges are superbly preserved and remarkably sharp, clearly defining this as a genuine Carcharodontosaurus predator tooth of the highest quality. Its massive thickness gives it a powerful presence, a true “chunky” specimen that radiates strength and character.
Adding to its uniqueness, a secondary replacement tooth of 7 cm (2.75 inches) can be seen emerging from the root cavity. This feature is a textbook example of tooth replacement in theropods and offers a rare biological insight into how these great predators continuously renewed their deadly arsenal of teeth.
Teeth of this caliber from the Kem Kem Beds have become highly desirable among collectors worldwide. They are regarded as both scientifically important and as genuine investment fossils, growing ever scarcer as the best examples are secured in private and museum collections.
This specimen is a masterpiece of natural history, fully authentic, completely natural, and preserved in outstanding condition with beautiful enamel, sharp serrations, and a complete root. It represents not only a highlight for any serious fossil collection but also an investment piece of lasting value and prestige.
