Description from the seller

Unique hand-painted Delft blue wall plate from De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft), dated 1888. The scene is based on a painting by Dutch artist Jan Hillebrand Wijsmuller (1855-1925) and depicts a typical Dutch winter landscape with windmills, boats, and trees along frozen water.

The plate is painted with great detail and nuance in various shades of blue, characteristic of the craftsmanship of the late 19th century at De Porceleyne Fles. In the lower right corner, the plate is signed 'after J. H. Wijsmuller,' and on the back, it bears the painter's signature of P.F. Vreeswijk, who was active as a ceramic painter at De Porceleyne Fles during this period. The J as a year letter refers to 1888.

The board has a diameter of 29cm.

In excellent antique condition. Craquelure appropriate for the age. Photos are part of the description.
