Description from the seller
Welcome to this special sale of books by authors listed in the book Photobook by Parr & Badger. 'Son of a bit' by Yasuhiko Uchihara is listed in Photobook, volume III, page 259. It was also selected by Martin Parr among the 30 most important photography books of the decade. Seigensha, 2007. First edition, first printing. 28 pages and 120 color photographs, paperback edition with illustrated cover and flaps, with OBI.
To view the photographic series in full screen, double-click on a photograph, then you can return to the standard display at any time.
A passionate advocate of digital photography, Uchihara is accustomed to taking several hundred shots daily, some of which are automatically uploaded to his website. A few are presented here; they were taken during his travels to Tokyo, in the Klong Toey slum in Bangkok, and during his leisure moments in his hotel room. Every detail is as important as a field of rotten apples or the bustling activity of a street, all captured in full page, in vivid colors, with a nonchalant gaze on order, chaos, life, and death. (Excerpt from the publisher's presentation). The title 'Son of Bit' reflects Uchihara's attachment to digital photography. Indeed, the bit is the simplest unit in a numbering system. It can have two values, most often represented by the digits 0 and 1.
Copy in excellent condition, practically like new with its OBI band. From my personal collection, kept with the utmost care. Shipping is protected with reinforced packaging and guaranteed international tracking. For multiple purchases, combined shipping is possible, with a refund of any overpaid postal fees via Paypal.
