Description from the seller

Dogon granary door
The Dogons carefully carve the doors of their granaries. The decoration depends on the function of the building, but also on the symbolism of the figures and the protective role they serve. They are made up of several panels of wood of varying widths, attached by iron ligatures. The house door is, in Africa, a rare example of the art of the carved panel.
