Chartreuse Verte/Green liqueur, 3 bottles of 70 cl, 55% vol, produced in France, bottled in 2025 (bottling in the 2020s).
Description from the seller
70 cl / 55°
Type: Liqueur
Raw material: Alcohol, herbs, spices, aromas, sugar, honey
Method of production: Pot Still Distillation & Infusion
Packaging: No
Green Chartreuse combines 130 herbs, flowers, roots and spices, beet alcohol as base, white sugar to sweeten. Bottling is at 55% vol. Ages at least 3 years in large French oak barrels.
Always consumed neat or with an ice cube to dilute the alcohol content, it is actually one of the ingredients in famous international cocktails such as the Last Word, Chartreuse Swizzle and Bijou.
Since the discovery of the mysterious manuscript containing the recipe for the elixir of life, an early version of the elixir was produced in the Vauvert monastery in Paris until 1737. From then until 1864, the Vegetal Elixir was elaborated in the pharmacy of the Grande Chartreuse monastery, where Father Jerome Maubec defined the first recipe in 1764, adding sugar and lowering the alcohol content, working towards the green colour. Green Chartreuse as we know it today was born from the formula of 130 herbs in 1840.
The PHOTOGRAPHED bottles will be the ones actually sent to the final buyer
Shipping will be in special POLYSTYrene packaging to protect against shocks and temperature changes.
I DO NOT ship to Turkey, Israel and Corsica.
