Description from the seller

White marble and gilded bronze portico clock, Louis XVI period.

Slender and refined, this clock adopts the shape of a two-column portico decorated with bronze bas-reliefs. The curved base, adorned with friezes of pearls, rosettes, and floral garlands, rests on four finely chiseled spool feet.

The white enamel dial, with Arabic numerals for hours and minutes, is highlighted by a sunray-shaped balance wheel. On either side, two columns topped with dice decorated with bas-relief gilded bronze embellishments support rich covered urns adorned with festooned chains.
The upper part is composed of an elegant architectural curve, ending in an ornamented termination with a seed, rings, and intertwined scrolls, framed by stylized bird heads that animate the silhouette.

Through the harmony of its proportions, the purity of the white marble, and the richness of its gilded detailing, this clock illustrates the refined taste of the late 18th century and the mastery of Parisian workshops specializing in neoclassical models.

Functional movement.

The shipment will be carefully handled and insured.

Good luck with your bids, everyone.
