Description from the seller
Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) Gustavsberg Argenta Series Vase Art Deco Nike Crick Netherlands
Rare and spectacular Art Deco ceramic vase with silver application depicting a nude woman riding a winged dragon against a background of nuanced green enamel, characteristic of this Argenta series.
Around the collar, there is the following inscription, also in silver.
On the occasion of the sale of the 10,000th Nike Crick in the Netherlands — with our warmest congratulations.
Wilhelm Kåge (1889 - 1960) was a Swedish artist who studied in Stockholm and Munich before becoming the artistic director of the Gustavsberg Manufacturing.
This vase, as well as the silver of the main decor, are in very good condition and of impeccable craftsmanship quality.
The decor and inscription are indeed silver in color and not gold as some photographs might suggest. The gold hue comes from the sunlight reflecting off the silver.
Signed below 'Gustavsberg Argenta, 1076 IV, Made in Sweden, naval anchor & monogram'.
Dimensions: height 34.5 x diameter 16 centimeters and a significant weight of 3.6 kg.
Subtle wear on the inscription of the case.
Sent via registered Colissimo with insurance and tracking number.
