Märklin H0 - 38700 - Steam locomotive with tender (1) - Class D Shay - Western Maryland
Company number 5
American steam locomotive type Shay, Class D. Equipped with four drive units (Tracks). Powered via drive axles and cardan shafts over conical gears on the tracks. Featuring the characteristic steam boiler placed on the left side. These locomotives were mainly used on American field and forestry lines, on routes with sharp curves and steep gradients. Locomotive number 5 from the Western Maryland. Model in the version from the 1940s.

Front and closing signals change with the direction of travel.

Equipped with digital mfx+ decoder and extensive sound functions. The boiler contains a regulated high-power drive with flywheel. All four drive units of the locomotive and tender are powered via cardan shafts and conical gears. Equipped with anti-slip tires. Standard with a smoke generator. The locomotive and tender each have a front light that switches with the direction of travel. Light switching and smoke generator are operated in analog mode and can be controlled digitally. The lighting of the driver’s cab can be operated separately in digital. Lighting uses maintenance-free warm-white LEDs. Comes with a buffer capacitor. At the rear of the tender and the front of the locomotive are fixed-pivot NEM coupler pockets with NEM shafts. Minimum radius for operation is 360 mm. Features a figure of the driver and fireman in the driver’s cab. Length: 25.2 cm.
