Description from the seller

Blaupunkt 2GW145 (1946) – The voice of rebirth!

In the heart of Europe, rising from the rubble, the Blaupunkt 2GW145 was born: not just a radio, but a symbol of restart.
Compatta (26×26×12 cm), simple with its two valves, functioning in both AC and DC, and enclosed in a warm wooden casing, brought music, news, and radio dramas into homes.

Today, it is much more than a device: it is a living memory, a fragment of history that tells of hope and resilience.

The input is a dash character, which does not require translation.

Curiosity

Blaupunkt was founded in 1923 as Ideal Radiotelephon & Apparatefabrik. The current name was adopted in 1938, inspired by the blue badge that certified quality: from a simple label to a global icon.

The 2GW145, produced in 1946, is considered a post-war reinterpretation of the famous DKE 1938, the propaganda radio of the Third Reich.
It preserves the compact format and technical setup but replaces bakelite with pressed wood and simplifies the circuit, adapting to the post-war constraints.

Many call it a 'wooden DKE,' but it is more accurate to see it as a sober and civil evolution of an object that has changed its face along with history.

In summary: it is not a copy, but a transformation. And precisely because of this, it is a rare and precious piece.

The input is a dash character, which does not require translation.
