Description from the seller
1 bottle
rhum a1710
La Delivrande
70 cl 48,8°
About the rum:
La Délivrande, is a pure cane juice vintage distilled and matured at the Habitation du Simon.
On the nose, its complexity reveals itself through notes of black fruit and macadamia nuts contrasted with hints of mint and leather.
In the mouth, wisps of smoked wood are followed by notes of mild tobacco and fruit preserves. The finish is characterised by chocolate and charred beans.
A bewitching aged rum, both complex and intense, carried by a beautiful lingering finish.
Distilling methods:
copper still
fitted with a seven-plate column
Age: youngest component is 6 years
About the producer:
A1710 is a new small-scale rhum distillery in Martinique. It’s situated at the Habitation du Simon in St François, two-thirds of the way down the eastern side of the island. The distillery is one of the few agricole producers to use a copper pot still and because of this, falls outside of the AOC classification for Martinique rhum. A1710 was created by Yves Assier de Pompignan and the rhum is produced under the watchful eye of master blender and director of production, Stéphanie Martin.
As they don't have any long-aged stock yet, Soleil de Minuit (8-11 years) was sourced from other distilleries from Martinique & Guadeloupe (molasses and cane juice) and aged for a further period on-site in ex-cognac barrels (fûts) before being matured for a further six months in ex-cognac casks (foudres).
