Description from the seller

Côte d'Ivoire
Bété / Guéré
Height: 300mm
Width: 200mm
Depth: 290mm
Weight: 2250 grams

African Nyabwa wooden mask with horns and fabrics, from the Bété ethnic group of Ivory Coast.

Collected in the Daoula region in the center-west of Ivory Coast.

This mask / headdress / altar of an African spider fetish priest Nyabwa from the Bété tribe in Côte d'Ivoire is fascinating and beautifully carved with very aggressive horns.

The face is behind the horns. This type of mask was used during peace ceremonies following an armed conflict. It was also used to inspire fear in a potential enemy during ceremonies to encourage warriors before going into battle or upon the hunters' return when the hunt had been successful.
This mask could be used in a reclining position by a shaman during rites with a magical protection function for warriors and hunters.

The items are shipped with insurance and a tracking number.
Packages are shipped from Monday to Saturday. Delivery in France within 1 to 3 days via Chronopost, and between 2 and 5 days throughout Europe. Worldwide delivery with Colissimo International.
