Roman antique terracotta drizzle bottle named Gourde, dating to the 2nd–3rd century AD, measuring 12.5 cm high and 10.5 cm wide, in excellent condition with two small chips at the neck, Provenance: ex-private Belgian collection formed in the 1950s–1980s by Mr. H. P., Consul Honorary of Belgium.
Description from the seller
A beautiful small Roman flask with a flattened lenticular shape, made of beige-brown terracotta with a uniform patina. The body is slightly convex on both sides and topped with a short neck that flares into a subtly defined lip. A typical utilitarian item, intended for transporting small quantities of liquids (water, oil, or wine).
Conservation: No reassembly or restoration; only two small old chips visible at the neck.
Roman period, 2nd to 3rd century AD.
Height: 12.5 cm
Width: 10.5 cm.
Provenance: Formerly a Belgian private collection formed in the 1950s-1980s by Mr. H. P.
Honorary Consul of Belgium.
