AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful rare extra large specimen
Sold together with the custom-made wooden stand and metal frame.
Dimensions: H.53 cm (including stander) Dimensions without stander H.34 W.31.5 D.19 cm
Weight: 1.56 kg without stand, 3 kg with stand.
Condition: Beautiful specimen. Photos are part of the description.
This coco is old enough and therefore not CITES-relevant. CITES Appendix III - Annex C in the EU
The sea coconut is the largest seed and one of the most sought-after natural art objects. These coconuts grow on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse in the Seychelles and have a very suggestive shape.
The ripe fruit is heavy (15 kg to 25 kg), so it cannot float on water; instead, it sinks until the flesh inside decomposes, and then it rises again thanks to the gases inside. That’s why we long thought this was the fruit of an unknown marine tree, hence the name 'sea coconut'.
