Description
A superb and rare portrait of Marc Bolan, taken in 1972, during the peak of T. Rex’s fame and the height of the glam-rock era. This is one of the classic Zygmant images: Bolan relaxed, up close, and full of the charisma that defined his stage presence.
This print comes from the private archive of photographer Bill Zygmant — the same archive that produced well-known images of John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Rod Stewart, and numerous 1960s–1980s celebrities.
The photograph is hand-signed by Bill Zygmant in ink on the lower border, with the date “1972” written on the opposite side. The signature is the authentic Zygmant studio signature.
Bill rarely released large prints of many of his music-industry photographs, making this size and subject especially desirable among collectors.

This print comes directly from Bill Zygmant’s personal collection.
The seller personally knew Bill and lived in the same building for a period, and will include additional photographs of myself with Bill as supporting provenance (these additional photos are not part of the auction but can be shown to the winning bidder after purchase).
