William Morris (Walthamstow, March 24, 1834 – London, October 3, 1896) was a British artist and writer.
Strawberry Thief Blue reproduces one of William Morris's most recognizable designs, and in our opinion, it is also the most iconic work in the Arts and Crafts style. It was originally created as a tapestry after observing birds stealing strawberries from the garden of his home in Gloucestershire, Kelmscott Manor.
Morris is among the main founders of the Arts and Crafts movement; he is considered a pioneer of modern designers and had a significant influence on architecture and architects of his time. Many regard him as the father of the Modern Movement, although he was not an architect himself. He founded a design studio in collaboration with artist Edward Burne-Jones and poet and artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who profoundly influenced church and home decoration in the twentieth century. He also made an important contribution to the revival of traditional textile arts and their associated production methods.

Among the exhibitors of Liberty, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco, and among the most famous like William Morris, we can remember Alfons Mucha. Velde, Grasset, Lenoir, Monjoli, Cipriani, Sanglier, Klimt, Max le Verrier, Beeld, Luppens, Coco Chanel, Maurice Picaud, Tiffany.
