Gold coin, issued in 1877, by the Royal Mint of Belgium, under the reign of Leopold II of Belgium.
On the obverse, the head of the Monarch can be seen looking to the right.
Above is the legend "Leopold II King of the Belgians" and below is the year of issue.
The reverse features the Belgian coat of arms with the motto "Unity Makes Strength" and the face value of the 20 Francs coin.
The words "God protects Belgium" can be read in raised letters on the edge.
