All Nippon Airways (ANA) launched the “Original Gold Boarding Pass Present” campaign starting July 18 to celebrate the inaugural flight of the ANA Pokémon Jet. By collecting two boarding pass stubs from ANA domestic flights and submitting them, participants were guaranteed to receive the original gold boarding pass, available only through this campaign (applicable to all routes).

Prior to the start of the service on July 2, the ANA Pokémon Jet made its first flight over Japan on June 16, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from children and passengers nationwide. In response to this popularity, ANA announced that the operating period of the ANA Pokémon Jet would continue until March 31, 1999.
