Description from the seller

This is a vintage globe with an Italian cartographic design. In the cartouche (decorative frame) in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, you can clearly see Italian text, which is typical of maps from the 16th to 18th centuries, when Italian cartographers like Vincenzo Coronelli and family globe makers from Venice were leading figures. These types of globes were often decorated with ornate elements and sometimes Latin, but Italian was mainly used for regional production.
The style, font, and decorative framing suggest a reproduction of a classic Italian map, likely in the style of the Baroque or Renaissance period, but this globe itself appears to be a modern production in an antique style as a decorative object. You are therefore dealing with an Italian-looking globe, probably inspired by the Venetian or Florentine mapmakers of the 17th century.

Decorative vintage on an ivory-colored wooden pedestal. Attractive eye-catching pieces for classic or modern interiors, libraries, or offices.

Length 26 cm
Width 20 cm
Dikre 13 cm

Condition: in good condition with minor signs of use. See photos for clarification.

Carefully packaged and shipped by registered mail.
