Oval reliquary medallion – Relic of St. Andrew the Apostle – 18th/19th century
Oval medalion in silvered metal, rocaille decor, containing a relic identified by a nominal paper in Latin 'S. Andreae Ap.' (Saint Andrew the Apostle). The relic is displayed under glass, on a red silk background.
The reverse is adorned with an imprint depicting a saint in relief, and retains its seal of ecclesiastical authority's red wax, intact and unbroken.
Condition: light wear and oxidation of the metal, antique glass showing fine irregularities, but complete structure.
