Specimen of crustacean Aeger sp from Solnhofen, Bavaria, Germany, dating to the Late Jurassic (Titonian), conserved and restored, weight 1 kg, dimensions 42 × 28 × 0.5 cm.
Description from the seller
Fascinating specimen of crustacean from the genus Aeger, originating from the famous lithographs of Solnhofen (Bavaria, Germany), one of the most important sites in the world for the exceptional preservation of Upper Jurassic fossils (about 150 million years ago).
The animal clearly shows the body with cephalothorax and appendages, accompanied by the characteristic caudal fan. Preservation is typical of fine lithographic limestone levels, with good chromatic contrast against the matrix.
