Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and a defining figure of Modern Art. Throughout his long and prolific career, he explored and reinvented numerous styles—Cubism, Neoclassicism, Surrealism, Expressionism—while constantly challenging established conventions of form, space, and representation. His ability to move effortlessly between genres, materials, and techniques (painting, sculpture, ceramics, engraving, drawing, and printmaking) made his body of work extraordinarily diverse and groundbreaking.

The artwork L’Autruche ('The Ostrich') exemplifies Picasso’s mastery of reductive line drawing, where a few bold, fluid strokes create an instantly recognizable form full of movement and personality.
