The image is not meant to be just a scene, a moment in a game of billiards, a caption, but rather, as the author intends, an evocation of those gestures that, in the game, appear identical, linked to technique, but instead reflect the ironic attitude of the standing figure, who indicates where to strike the cue ball, with geometric calculation, from the bent figure.
The visual relationship established during the observation of the group is clearly metaphysical. If one observes the arrangement of the bottles or balls on the billiard table, it forms a triangle that suggests a possible, symbolic order.
Triangle is also the arrangement of the standing figure, the bent one, and the corner of the billiard table, clearly indicating an intention to create a construction on the perceptual plane. In fact, if one wants to emphasize the scene, the point of observation or the preferred viewpoint of the sculpture—in this case, in the round—is the corner of the billiard table between the two figures.
It can be curious for those who observe to follow the trajectory or line highlighted by the bottle that the bent figure intends to strike; the game is clear.
The title attests to this by highlighting the fleeting moment of the gesture in contrast to the anticipation of the gesture's completion, as often happens in life.
Thought expands into an immeasurable space, while action, whether positive or negative, occurs in an instant, opposite and also immeasurable.
Only a metaphysical watch can perceive all this, certainly not a mechanical watch.
