The surface bears a soft iridescent sheen, the result of ancient glass weathering over time, adding to its distinctive archaeological character.
This piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of Roman glassmakers in producing ornamental jewelry during the 2nd–4th centuries AD. Such rings were likely worn as personal adornments and may have also indicated social status.

Provenance: Acquired from a reputable auction house. Previously part of a private collection (J.H.), and held since the 1980s.
