Antique powder flask with sieve – Louis Gauffre, Paris – silver (800 boar's head) and crystal – Belle Époque circa 1900

Elegant antique powder bottle from the Belle Époque period, made of clear, vertically cut crystal with a richly decorated solid silver mount and cap.

The cap is gilded on the inside and closes with a fine screw thread. Beneath the cap is a finely perforated brass mesh (tamis) used to evenly dispense perfumed powder or talcum powder – typical of luxurious sets around 1900.

The silver edge is engraved with elegant stylized tulip motifs in Art Nouveau style.
Marked with the French wild boar head and master stamp “LG” for Louis Gauffre, active in Paris between 1887 and 1914, known for his refined silverware for crystal bottles and toiletries.
