Standing, nude, finely carved in the round, his hands resting on his knees, with leonine features and ears, protruding tongue is outlined against the full lower lip, beard hair smooth curling at the end. Wearing a necklace with pendant and belt. Exquisite.
Size: 7.7 cm H - 3 inches
Material: Steatite
Culture: Egypt, c. 600-450 B.C.
Condition: Chip to rim and base, otherwise intact
Provenance: British private collection acquired on the London art market prior to 2005.
