Description from the seller

This extraordinary sphere has been carved from a high-quality natural amethyst geode, partially exposing the interior cavity covered by a rich formation of deep purple crystals. The polished surface of the sphere contrasts beautifully with the open area of the geode, where amethyst crystals intertwine with a central orange calcite crystal, creating a visually striking dialogue between two minerals formed in perfect symbiosis.
Amethyst is a variety of quartz whose violet coloration is due to traces of iron and exposure to natural radiation over millions of years. It typically forms in volcanic environments, when silica-rich hydrothermal solutions penetrate rock cavities and crystallize slowly, giving rise to classic geodes lined with points. In this specimen, the process led to co-crystallization with calcite, which subsequently developed under slightly different chemical conditions, endowing the sphere with a dual aesthetic and scientific significance.
The inside of the geode reveals a dynamic combination of transparent purple amethyst and pink calcite, both with well-defined crystal forms. This contrast of colors and structures makes every corner of the sphere unique and fascinating, highlighting the natural beauty of the raw mineral and the craftsmanship of the artisanal work.
Perfect as a decorative element of prestige or as a collectible piece, this sphere represents a rare example of geological harmony, mineral energy, and aesthetic beauty. An object destined to evoke wonder, ideal for refined environments or to enrich high-level mineralogical collections.

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
