Nephrite jade carved pendant – Circular motif with stylized dragons
A pendant carved like a small seal of strength and continuity. The dark, deep nephrite jade has been handcrafted into a large circular element, crossed by a dense network of lines depicting pairs of sinuous dragons. The curves are not decorative: they seem to follow an internal rhythm, a kind of ancestral movement reminiscent of the earliest protohistoric iconographies of East Asia. The surface, dense and compact, retains the characteristic satin sheen of nephrite, a stone chosen for centuries for amulets and ritual objects due to its durability and symbolic value. In the center, a small carved floral motif delicately breaks the symmetry, like a seed opening within an ancient spiral.
The pendant is mounted on a braided cord and finished with a red glass pearl, which adds a splash of color and evokes classical ornamental traditions.
