Merovingian pearl in multicolored glass
Opaque glass paste tubular bead in various colors, red, white, and green. This bead shows traces (scratches, markings, etc.) that indicate its age.
This pearl is made using the stretched glass technique.
The Merovingians generally used two methods, namely the so-called stretched glass and coiled glass. Unlike the stretched specimens, coiled beads exhibit a wide variety of decorations.
Dating: 5th / 8th century AD
Length 2.3 cm - diameter 0.9 cm
Perfect condition
Provenance: France, Galerie F.V.A.
