Description from the seller
Brass vanity box – pressed brass, claw feet – marked STAF – circa 1910–1930 – Belgium / Northern France
Description
Elegant early 20th-century Art-Nouveau brass boudoir vanity box, made of pressed brass and resting on four elegant claw feet. Likely origin Belgium or Northern France, circa 1910–1930.
The box is marked on the bottom with the oval stamp 'STAF', a recognizable signature of a regional metal atelier that produced luxury small brass objects in the early 20th century. This mark confirms the atelier's production and adds extra collector's value to the piece.
The top side and the sides are made of richly detailed pressed brass with floral and decorative motifs in original patina.
The hinge still functions well. The interior contains the original wooden insert, showing signs of use appropriate for its age, including an old handwritten mark that reflects the historical use of the box.
A charming authentic Art-Nouveau object with a warm antique appearance — ideal as a decorative accent, collector's item, or gift.
