Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Italian Space Age style table lamp, 55 cm high (14 cm shade diameter) with a swivelling stem and directionally adjustable shade, made of metal and Bakelite, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
A beautiful and large Italian table lamp in chrome steel from the late 1950s.
This lamp is approximately 55 cm tall (with a lampshade diameter of 14 cm), but it features a swiveling arm that allows you to illuminate at the desired height. Additionally, the adjustable lampshade provides the possibility to direct light in any direction.
Very innovative for those years when lamps were adjustable in different ways and had darker-colored structures.
This reflects the Space Age era, where the rounded shape reminded of the new metal used in space endeavors.
It still remains contemporary in style today!
The 'pioletto' switch on the base with the power cord and the electrical outlet seem to clash in terms of age with the rest of the lamp. While the former appears to date from antiquity, the latter is styled towards the 2000s and beyond.
Another feature that sets this lamp apart from similar ones is the lampshade holder, which is made of bakelite instead of plastic like the less dated and cheaper models. The final characteristic is the shiny metal, which does not have the usual chrome plating that peels or 'wrinkles' over time. At the time of its release, it was the most expensive version, partly because the future success was not anticipated, leading to a compromise in material quality for mass production.
Working, never repaired, and consistent throughout.
It presents 2/3 light signs on the lampshade that are almost imperceptible to the eye.
For environments in contemporary, vintage style, and for the most demanding collectors of Space Age period lamps.
We do not send outside the European Community.
For the islands, we reserve the right to request an adjustment if this is asked of us by the freight forwarders as an extra fee.
