Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Ettore Sottsass designed this Olivetti Synthesis Series 45 item, produced in Italy in 1970–1980, made of melamine/polypropylene in brown, 27 × 27 × 8 cm, weighing 1.3 kg, with minor age-related wear and a tiny corner flaw.
Description from the seller
Ashtray in the elegant brown color, Series 45, designed by Ettore Sottsass for the renowned Italian company Olivetti in the Synthesis series of 1972.
Made entirely of melamine (or polypropylene) (a highly durable, heavy, and heat-resistant material), it is difficult to find due to its rarity.
The Synthesis series included numerous office articles and accessories, published in the most famous design magazines.
Brand 'Olivetti Synthesis Made in Italy' printed on the bottom of the base.
The conditions are excellent, almost like new, with some minor signs of wear consistent with the age of the piece.
It is worth noting a very small imperfection in a corner that is hardly visible to the eye, which does not compromise either the aesthetics or the functionality. In fact, there is no vein or thread in that area. It could also be a manufacturing defect, although the seriousness and quality of the company would suggest otherwise. I have tried to highlight it as clearly as possible in some specific photos.
Measurements: 27 cm x 27 cm x 8 cm.
Very heavy: 1,300 grams without packaging.
