This is a Russian Orthodox icon of the Mother of God 'of the Unexpected Joys.'
(In Russian: Mother of God 'Joy of All Who Sorrow' or more specifically 'Unexpected Joy' — Unexpected Joy).

What does this icon represent?

The main scene shows

The Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus in the center.

On the left, a kneeling man, a repentant sinner, who prostrates himself before the Mother of God.

On the sides, there are protective saints.

Names such as Basilio (Василий), Feodor (Фёдор), Ana (Анна), Varvara (Барбара) are read.

The meaning of the devotion 'Unexpected Joy'

This devotion comes from a devotional story.
A sinful man used to pray before an image like this. One day, while praying, he saw that Christ's wounds were bleeding, accusing him of his sins. After crying and asking for forgiveness, Christ forgave him through the intercession of the Virgin. Since then, she has been invoked to obtain sudden help in dangers, illnesses, misfortunes, and distress.

It is a very popular devotion in Russia since the 18th century.
